Panthers Win Game 3, One Win Away From Championship

Oilers Battle Back for Game 4

Panthers Dominate Game 3, Oilers Look to Respond in Game 4

The Florida Panthers are one win away from their first Stanley Cup championship after a 4-3 victory in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers. After a scoreless first period, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the second period on goals from Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart. The Oilers responded with a goal from Connor McDavid late in the second period, but the Panthers regained their two-goal lead on a goal from Aleksander Barkov in the third period.

The Oilers managed to tie the game with goals from Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard, but Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner made 31 saves in the loss, while Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves for the win.

With the win, the Panthers take a 3-0 lead in the series. Game 4 will be played on Saturday night in Edmonton, and the Oilers will need a win to avoid being swept.

Despite the loss, the Oilers remain confident that they can come back and win the series. "We've been in this position before," said McDavid. "We know what we need to do, and we're going to go out there and do it." Draisaitl echoed McDavid's sentiments, saying, "We're not going to give up. We're going to keep fighting until the end."

The Panthers, on the other hand, are on the cusp of making history. A win in Game 4 would give them their first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history. "We're one win away," said Barkov. "We're not going to let this opportunity slip away."

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is set for Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC. The Oilers will need a win to stay alive in the series, while the Panthers will be looking to close it out and win their first Stanley Cup.
